A Patriot’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
I am one. Not only one, but one that can make a difference. Not just one that can make a difference in my family, or in my local Christian community, or perhaps in my kindred friendships through business acquaintances, but beyond these precious relationships.
You see, Lord, there are some who are businessmen first. There are others who are patriots first and businessmen second. But deep down in my heart, I know I must stand as a Christian first, a patriot second, and a businessman third. That does not mean that a patriot or businessman is less important. On the contrary, this order follows a Divine Plan of priorities. For if I abandon my Christian principles first, then I become a dishonorable
patriot and dishonest businessman. If I am a patriot first, then I become a Christian compromiser and a biased businessman. If I am a businessman first, then the bottom line corrupts my Christian character and compromises my patriotic principles.
Lord, I see our Founding Fathers as men of Christian faith, hope and love. I see these colonists as businessmen who sought for a free enterprise system, men of ingenuity, creativity, and integrity. They were patriots of courage, followers of the Divine God. Their God said if you want to follow me, then deny yourself and take up your cross daily. And so they followed, some to poverty, others to martyrdom.
Lord, as a Christian Patriotic Businessman, make me to be a man of God, mighty in Spirit, and strong in the Character of Christ. Then, and only then, can I ever be the patriot and businessman you want me to be.
Finally, Lord, you have inspired me to become a growing Christian in order to be a courageous Patriot so I can reach out to make a difference throughout my community, my county, and my country.
So, I pledge to …
- Get In to educating myself on the issues
- Get Up from my chair with conservative, constitutional political action
- Get On with the mission which You, Father, have called me to fulfill.
Therefore, to my Heavenly Father, because of our Founding Fathers, I humbly take up my cross and follow; no matter what it takes, no matter where it takes me, and no matter how I end up.
My prayer is for this clarion purpose: For the glory of God first, and for the Reformation of our country second. And may it be the desire of every Patriot here.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your faith in us, for Your hope eternal, and for Your unconditional love that is manifest through us. I pray all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
